Closing the loop in the Adriatic region

Greentech

Greentech is the leading PET packaging recycling company in Serbia. Based in Novi Sad since 2005, it has been continuously developing its production technologies and expanding its supplier network. Its recycling facility is located in Mladenovo (Backa Palanka municipality). Close to Croatia, Bosnia & Hercegovina and Hungary, it is in the ideal strategic position to become the regional centre for recycling.

High capacity

Today, Greentech processes up to 10,000 tonnes of waste PET packaging a year, producing hot- washed PET bottle flakes and PET preform flakes for reuse. Main applications include r-PET pellets for PET bottle production, PET film for thermoformed packaging, and PET/polyester fibres.

The recycling facility has two production lines: a Sorema PET bottles hot-wash line with integrated optical sorters from Tomra, Pellenc and Buhler, and an output capacity of up to 700kg/h. The second line grinds, washes and dries waste PET preforms with an output capacity of up to 300kg/h.

Collection services

Greentech also provides collection services for used PET bottles and preforms, HDPE bottles, PE film, and aluminium cans. Its collection network of over 50 suppliers covers the whole territory of Serbia. The company also imports waste PET bottles from North Macedonia, Bosnia & Hercegovina, and Croatia.

Grinteh MK

Grinteh MK is located in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. Founded in 2007, it is one of the leading PET bottle collecting companies. This facility sorts waste PET bottles and other polymer packaging from collected mixed packaging waste. The materials are sorted by type and colour, then baled and passed on for recycling to Greentech-Serbia. Some rigid plastics are also ground up and sold to local end users to produce other plastic products (crates, pipes, etc).

Achieving circularity

Since Resilux acquired a 70% share of the company, the plan is to increase the hot-washed flakes quality in Greentech-Serbia to A-grade for food contact. The processing capacity will be automized and expanded to ensure customers in the Adriatic region have a constant supply of recycled material and to achieve circularity for the PET bottles.
